Everyone loves an easy way to prepare breakfast that tastes good and overnight oats is probably one of my favourites. It’s also no secret that adding breakfast to your daily routine is part of a healthy diet. Not only will it fill you up, but it will also boost your energy level, set you up for a better eating pattern and enhance your productivity throughout the day.
Overnight oats is a fun and delicious way to incorporate oats to your diet for a very healthy start to your day. There are so many different ways to prepare it and because you will not be cooking it it is very low in GI (remember, most cooked grains become high in GI and is easier for your body to store as fat rather than to use as energy. You always need to keep your food in its most natural form before consumption. (Obviously things like pumpkin and rice you will have too cook)
1. Tropical and 2 Berry
Tropical: Add chia seeds with oats and water in tupperware or a glass jar (I favor that) and put it in the fridge.
Next morning remove from the fridge and add a mashed banana to the oats.
Add beautiful tropical fruit to taste. (I used my favourite, mango and kiwi) Add Xylitol syrup to sweeten low GI and delicious!
Berry mix: Add goji berries to oats and water.
In the morning add berries and yoghurt, sweeten to taste. Here is a quick video to show you how..
